Glückliche Gesichter auf dem 2. Bayerisch-Böhmischen Adventsmarkt und in der Krippenausstellung

Ein Hauch bayerischer Weihnacht, warmes Licht, der Duft von Lebkuchen und Tannenzweigen sowie fröhliche Stimmen erfüllten am Wochenende die ehrwürdigen Räume des Palais Chotek: Zum zweiten Mal hatte die Repräsentanz des Freistaates Bayern in Prag zu einem bayerisch-böhmischen Adventsmarkt mit begleitender Krippenausstellung eingeladen – und verwandelte das historische Palais in einen Ort gelebter Adventstradition, der Besucher aus nah und fern gleichermaßen in seinen Bann zog.

Schon zur feierlichen Eröffnung lag ein besonderer Zauber in der Luft. Das Original-Nürnberger Christkind schritt durch die Räume, eröffnete den Markt mit seiner Präsenz und wurde augenblicklich zum strahlenden Mittelpunkt des Wochenendes. Mit sanftem Lächeln, goldglänzendem Gewand und engelsgleicher Anmut verteilte es Nürnberger Lebkuchen und Autogrammkarten und schenkte den Gästen – ob jung oder alt – unvergessliche Momente und leuchtende Augen.

Deutschlands Botschafter in Tschechien, Dr. Peter Matthias Reuss, sowie der Leiter der Bayerischen Repräsentanz, Martin Kastler, zeigten sich sichtlich bewegt über den großen Zuspruch und die herzliche Stimmung. Tausende Besucher nutzten die Gelegenheit, in die festliche Welt bayerischer und böhmischer Weihnacht einzutauchen, innezuhalten und sich von Tradition, Handwerk und Kultur berühren zu lassen.

Besonderes Staunen rief die liebevoll kuratierte Krippenausstellung hervor, die mit handwerklicher Präzision und großer Detailfreude die Weihnachtsgeschichte in unterschiedlichsten Formen erzählte. Beim Live-Schnitzen konnten die Gäste den Kunsthandwerkern über die Schulter schauen und erleben, wie aus Holz mit ruhiger Hand und jahrzehntelanger Erfahrung kleine Meisterwerke entstehen. Für den musikalischen Rahmen sorgte die oberpfälzische Kultband „Die Fexer“, deren lebendige Klänge dem Markt eine fröhliche, zugleich besinnliche Note verliehen.

Großen Anklang fand auch das zweisprachige Kindertheater mit den Schauspielern Roman Horák und Philipp Schenker, das Brücken zwischen den Kulturen schlug und den jüngsten Besuchern auf spielerische Weise die Freude an Sprache, Theater und Weihnachten näherbrachte.

So blieb es nicht bei einem kurzen Besuch: Viele Gäste verweilten lange im stimmungsvoll geschmückten Ambiente, schlenderten von Stand zu Stand, kamen miteinander ins Gespräch und genossen die besondere Atmosphäre, die Bayern für diese Tage mitten in Prag brachte. Der bayerisch-böhmische Adventsmarkt im Palais Chotek erwies sich einmal mehr als Ort der Begegnung, der Herzlichkeit und der stillen Vorfreude auf das Weihnachtsfest – ein kleines, leuchtendes Juwel in der Prager Adventszeit.

Šťastné tváře na 2. bavorsko-českém adventním trhu a výstavě betlémů

Nádech bavorských Vánoc, teplé světlo, vůně perníku a jedlových větviček a veselé hlasy naplnily o víkendu úctyhodné prostory Palais Chotek. Zastoupení Svobodného státu Bavorsko v Praze již podruhé pořádalo bavorsko-český adventní trh s doprovodnou výstavou betlémů, čímž proměnilo historický palác v místo živoucí adventní tradice, které uchvátilo návštěvníky z blízka i z daleka.

I při slavnostním zahájení se vzduchem vznášela zvláštní magie. Místnostmi procházela původní norimberská Christkind (Ježíšek), která svou přítomností oficiálně otevřela trh a okamžitě se stala zářivým středem víkendu. S něžným úsměvem, třpytivým zlatým rouchem a andělskou grácií rozdávala norimberské perníky a podepsané karty a hostům – mladým i starým – darovala nezapomenutelné chvíle a jiskřivé oči.

Velvyslanec Německa v České republice Dr. Peter Matthias Reuss a vedoucí bavorského zastoupení Martin Kastler byli viditelně dojati velkou účastí a vřelou atmosférou. Tisíce návštěvníků využily příležitosti ponořit se do svátečního světa bavorských a českých Vánoc, zastavit se, zamyslet se a nechat se dotknout tradicí, řemeslným zpracováním a kulturou.

Zvláštním zdrojem úžasu byla s láskou připravená výstava betlémů, která vyprávěla vánoční příběh různými způsoby s pečlivou řemeslnou prací a velkou pozorností k detailu. Hosté mohli během živých ukázek řezbářství sledovat řemeslníky při práci a být svědky toho, jak s pevnou rukou a desítkami let zkušeností vznikají ze dřeva malá mistrovská díla. Hudební kulisu poskytla populární hornofalcká kapela „Die Fexer“, jejíž živé zvuky dodaly trhu radostný a zároveň kontemplativní nádech.

Velký úspěch mělo i dvojjazyčné dětské divadelní představení herců Romana Horáka a Philippa Schenkera, které budovalo mosty mezi kulturami a hravou formou seznámilo nejmladší návštěvníky s radostmi z jazyka, divadla a Vánoc.

Mnoho návštěvníků se dlouho zdrželo ve svátečně vyzdobeném prostředí, procházelo se od stánku ke stánku, povídalo si a užívalo si zvláštní atmosféru, kterou Bavorsko v těchto dnech přineslo do srdce Prahy. Bavorsko-české vánoční trhy v Chotkově paláci se opět ukázaly jako místo setkávání, vřelosti a tichého očekávání Vánoc – malý, zářící klenot pražského adventního období.

Happy faces at the 2nd Bavarian-Bohemian Advent Market and Nativity Scene Exhibition

A touch of Bavarian Christmas, warm light, the scent of gingerbread and fir branches, and cheerful voices filled the venerable rooms of the Palais Chotek over the weekend. For the second time, the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria in Prague hosted a Bavarian-Bohemian Advent Market with an accompanying Nativity Scene Exhibition, transforming the historic palace into a place of living Advent tradition that captivated visitors from near and far.

Even at the festive opening, a special magic filled the air. The original Nuremberg Christkind (Christ Child) walked through the rooms, officially opening the market with her presence and instantly becoming the radiant center of the weekend. With a gentle smile, shimmering gold robe, and angelic grace, she distributed Nuremberg gingerbread and autographed cards, giving guests—young and old—unforgettable moments and sparkling eyes.

Germany’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Dr. Peter Matthias Reuss, and the Head of the Bavarian Representation, Martin Kastler, were visibly moved by the large turnout and the warm atmosphere. Thousands of visitors took the opportunity to immerse themselves in the festive world of Bavarian and Bohemian Christmas, to pause and reflect, and to be touched by tradition, craftsmanship, and culture.

The lovingly curated nativity scene exhibition, which told the Christmas story in a variety of ways with meticulous craftsmanship and great attention to detail, was a particular source of wonder. Guests could watch the artisans at work during live woodcarving demonstrations and witness how, with a steady hand and decades of experience, small masterpieces are created from wood. The popular Upper Palatinate band “Die Fexer” provided the musical backdrop, their lively sounds lending the market a joyful yet contemplative touch.

The bilingual children’s theater performance by actors Roman Horák and Philipp Schenker was also a great success, building bridges between cultures and playfully introducing the youngest visitors to the joys of language, theater, and Christmas.

Many visitors lingered long in the festively decorated setting, strolling from stall to stall, chatting with one another, and enjoying the special atmosphere that Bavaria brought to the heart of Prague for these days. The Bavarian-Bohemian Christmas market at the Chotek Palace once again proved to be a place of encounter, warmth, and quiet anticipation of Christmas – a small, shining jewel in Prague’s Advent season.
