On Thursday, 9 October, the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Prague hosted a reception to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK). The celebration took place at the North Korean Embassy in Prague 6 and gathered guests, diplomats, and friends of the country.
The reception highlighted the historical significance of the Workers’ Party of Korea, founded under the leadership of President Kim Il-sung, who established the political foundations of the DPRK. Since its founding, the Party has played a central role in shaping the country’s political, economic, and social development.
Speeches and presentations during the event also referred to the current leadership of Comrade Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of State Affairs of the DPRK, under whose direction the Party continues its policies of sovereignty, self-reliance (Juche), and defense of national dignity.
Guests were welcomed in a formal and respectful atmosphere, with traditional elements and visual displays illustrating historical milestones of the Party’s history. The event also reflected the DPRK’s efforts to present itself internationally with a sense of pride and continuity.
A special highlight of the evening was the generous hospitality extended to attendees. The embassy offered guests a wide selection of food and beverages, contributing to a warm and festive atmosphere.
