As the upcoming weekend approaches, meteorologist Dagmar Honsová forecasts a notable drop in temperatures accompanied by numerous showers, hinting at the potential appearance of snowflakes not only in higher altitudes but also in lower-lying areas.
Honsová explains that the extended weekend will be characterized by a significant cooling trend, with ample cloud cover and precipitation. On Friday, the snowline is expected to rapidly descend, and there is a possibility of snowflakes briefly gracing even the lowest regions.
Thursday’s weather is anticipated to start with clear conditions due to an offshoot of higher air pressure. However, it will gradually transition to overcast or cloudy, especially in the northern part of the territory, bringing rain or showers that may manifest as snow on mountaintops. Temperature ranges are expected to be between 7 and 11 °C.
Moving into Friday, heavy cloud cover is projected, accompanied by rain or showers that will transform into snowfall in mountainous areas. The anticipated cooling throughout the day is likely to shift the rain-snow boundary to medium altitudes. Morning lows are forecasted to drop to 5 to 0 °C, with afternoon temperatures hovering between 2 and 4 °C, accentuated by wind chill making it feel colder.
Saturday’s weather is expected to feature overcast or cloudy skies, occasional rain or showers, and rain with snow or snowfall in medium altitudes. Windy conditions are anticipated, with morning lows ranging between 3 and -2 °C and daytime temperatures reaching 2 to 7 °C.
Looking ahead to Monday and Tuesday, the forecast indicates continuing cloudy to overcast skies, intermittent rain or showers, and temperatures spanning between 8 and 12 °C. Monday’s morning lows are projected to be between 5 and 1 °C, while on Tuesday, they are expected to range from 7 to 3 °C. The weekend and early next week promise a dynamic weather pattern, urging residents to prepare for cooler conditions and potential snowfall in various regions.
