ČSOB Bank Restores Services After Temporary Disruption; Clients to be Reimbursed for ATM Fees
ČSOB, one of the largest domestic banks in the Czech Republic, recently experienced a temporary disruption in its Internet banking services, ATMs, terminals, and payment gateways. The outage, which occurred yesterday afternoon, affected the bank’s operations for a specific period of time. However, ČSOB promptly took action to rectify the situation, and all services have now been fully restored and are functioning normally. Patrik Madle, the bank’s spokesperson, apologized for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and assured clients that any fees charged for using other banks’ ATMs during the outage would be reimbursed.
During the outage, ČSOB advised its customers to utilize ATMs of other banks for cash withdrawals. The bank identified the issue as an internal problem, possibly related to a data center outage, and is conducting a thorough analysis to determine the exact cause and prevent future occurrences.
Unfortunately, the disruption happened at an unfortunate time, as ČSOB had scheduled the release of its financial results for the first quarter at 2:00 PM. Due to the technical difficulties encountered, the bank had to postpone the announcement to a later time. Investors and stakeholders will have to wait for the updated schedule to assess the bank’s financial performance during the initial months of the year.
