On Friday, September 12, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Prague hosted a special Czech-Bulgarian business meeting. The aim of the event was to bring together entrepreneurs from both countries, explore opportunities for cooperation, and strengthen bilateral economic ties.

The embassy welcomed numerous Czech and Bulgarian business representatives active in the fields of export, import, trade, and investment. In an open and constructive dialogue, participants discussed ways to further deepen economic relations. Special focus was given to the opportunities for Czech companies to expand their presence on the Bulgarian market, as well as the potential for Bulgarian firms to increase their footprint in the Czech Republic.

The discussions highlighted that both countries can benefit from closer cooperation – whether in agriculture, the food industry, IT services, or mechanical engineering. Representatives on both sides emphasized the importance of expanding existing networks, reducing bureaucratic obstacles, and making the advantages of each other’s investment environments more visible.

Following the official talks, the embassy invited guests to a buffet featuring traditional Bulgarian specialties. Particular attention was given to the excellent Bulgarian wines, presented and sponsored by an importer. In a relaxed atmosphere, participants had the opportunity to continue their conversations and establish new business contacts.

The meeting at the Bulgarian Embassy demonstrated the important role of economic diplomacy in strengthening relations between the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. It became clear that the foundation for successful cooperation is in place – and that exchanges between entrepreneurs from both countries hold a promising future.
