Czech President-elect praises Poland’s help for Ukraine

Czech President-elect Petr Pavel has expressed his pride in the fact that the Czech Republic and Poland have been at the forefront of providing military aid to Ukraine. In an interview, Pavel acknowledged the potential increase in risk associated with providing further military equipment to Ukraine and confirmed plans for an upcoming visit to Poland.

The aim of the visit, according to Pavel, is to reassure Poland and the Baltic States of the Czech Republic’s commitment to the principle of solidarity and collective defense. Pavel also touched on the Visegrad Group and the preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius. He emphasized the importance of having a common position among the group and stated his intention to discuss this further during talks with Poland.

Overall, Pavel’s remarks demonstrate his commitment to maintaining strong ties between the Czech Republic and Poland, and to supporting Ukraine in its efforts to protect its territorial integrity and independence.
