Last January 27th, the exhibition “From Scientist to Painter” was opened at the Staropražská Gallery, the work of the Mexican scientist and painter, Paul Reyes. Representing the Embassy of Mexico, Min. Miguel A. Vilchis addressed a few words to the numerous attending audience, who pointed out that the title of this exhibition summarizes the double facet of Paul Reyes as a scientist and artist. As an artist – he said – he seeks to awaken a feeling and emotion in his viewers, through the aesthetic of his work, which covers a variety of topics such as landscapes, still nature, modern art (cubism) and portraits, using various techniques such as oil, oil pastel and drawing. He emphasized that the Embassy attaches great importance to the spread of Mexican culture in all its expressions, for being a bridge of understanding and friendship between our societies.
