Oslavujeme tak dívky a ty, kteří se zasazují o jejich vzdělání a práva. Je potřeba řešit výzvy, kterým dívky čelí, a posílit jejich postavení a naplňování lidských práv. Ukončení všech forem diskriminace žen a dívek je nejen základním lidským právem, ale má urychlující účinek ve všech ostatních oblastech rozvoje.

Dánsko zaujalo postoj k právům žen a dívek zejména pokud jde o jejich právo rozhodovat o vlastním těle, a má vedoucí úlohu v boji proti genderově podmíněnému násilí.

Today is United Nations International Day of the Girl Child!

We are celebrating girls and activists standing up for their education and their rights. We also focus on the need to address the challenges girls face and promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights. Ending all forms of discrimination against women and girls is not only a basic human right, but has an accelerating effect across all other development areas.

Denmark has taken a stance on women’s and girls’ rights regarding their right to decide over their own bodies and a leading role in fighting gender based violence.
