On Saturday, the first ever Winter Apetit picnic, as organized by the APETIT team, took place at historical premises of the Novoměstská radnice Praha. The food lovers gathered to taste goodies, enjoy cook-shows and workshops, buy food-gifts and meet famous food and sweet-stuff experts and faces from the TV screen in person – such as Mirka van Gils Slavíková, a renowned confectioner with an impressive international career and links to the Netherlands. Mirka is also known as a member of the jury of the first edition of a successful TV baking and confectionery competition Peče celá země. At her picnic bakery-show, Mirka showed the audience how to bake a typical Czech Christmas “cake” – vánočka.
Outside the building, a friendly team in a mobile store introduced the Dutch brand The Vegetarian Butcher CZSK by Unilever Food Solutions Česká republika. Presented products proved that vegetables can be a carrier of meat flavor, and a way to enjoy meat meals in a new, animal friendly version. Worth trying, what do you think?
