Embassy of Ukraine in Prague / Velvyslanectví Ukrajiny v Praze

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyj considers today’s first meeting of the European Political Association in Prague as an extraordinary opportunity to restore peace in Europe. He said this in his video address to the summit participants and thanked them for their help.
“Ukraine never wanted this war. Ukraine did not provoke her in any way. Ukraine has always pushed for a peace solution. Many of you have personally been involved in this effort and are helping us. You helped us in almost a hundred rounds of negotiations at various levels during which we offered peace to Russia.
However, we have to admit the obvious: we are dealing with a state that does not deserve peace. Which answers all proposals to make a real peace with rocket strikes, provocation of artificial crises and ridicule. Russia has submitted its entire policy to a single task, which is to lead the war. Wars against Ukraine, against Europe, against the world.
[…]
I’m 225. the day of total war and we have all already shown that Europe has an influence in matters of war and peace. However, now we must – all of us together – ensure that we completely block the formula of war and fully apply the formula of peace.
I challenge you right now to make a crucial decision. Deciding about the meaning of our society and this format of ours. We, the leaders of Europe, can become the leaders of peace. Our European Political Community can become a European Peace Society.
So let’s do this! And let this day be our starting point. The point from which Europe and the entire free world will move to a guaranteed peace for all of us. It’s a real thing.
