On the initiative of Charles University and as part of the presidency of the Czech Republic in the EU Council in Prague, a Conference of participants of the Cluster of Eastern Partnership Universities was held.
From Ukraine to cluster entered at once 4 universities: Kiev National University named after taras shevchenko led by rector professor volodymyr bugrovim, lviv national university named john franko led by rectorom professor in Olodimirom Melnykom, dnipro National University of olesya gončar headed by rector professor sergíêm okovitim and uzhgorod national University headed by the rector professor Vladimir Smolanka з.
The Eastern Partnership University Cluster Initiative, as a pilot project, envisages for the creation of a community of cooperating universities from the EU and the Eastern Partnership countries for systematic development of interuniversity cooperation in education and science.
With a welcome word to the participants of the conference addressed the Rector of Karlovogo University Professor Milena Kralíčkova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Yaroslav Kurfurst and Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic Jaroslav Miller. In their speeches, each of them noted that the issue of Ukraine is a priority for the Czech Republic and once again stressed that Russia, as an aggressor country, which is currently committing crimes in Ukraine, must be punished.
The result of the conference was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by the rectors of all participating universities.
In the framework of the event, the temporary confidant in the affairs of Ukraine in the Czech Republic, Vitaliy Usaty held meetings with the rector of the Charles University Professor Milena Kralichkova, with the present rectorami of Kiev National University of Taras Shevchenko Professor Rum Vladimir Bugrovim, Uzhhorod National University professor Vladimir Smolanka and with the Vice-Chancellor of Lviv National University named after Ivan Franko professor Sergei The differences he discussed the issues of Ukrainian-Czech relations and the development of further cooperation in the field of education and science.
