Today, on the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War 1939-1945, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic organized a ceremony of laying flowers to the memorial of the fallen soldiers of the 1st Ukrainian front and the memorial of the heroes of the Prague Uprising at the Olsha Cemetery in Prague with the participation of the Guard of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic.
At the invitation of the temporary believer in the affairs of Ukraine in the Czech Republic Vitaliy Usatogo in the ceremony of honoring Ukrainians who died in battles in the territory of Czechoslovakia, attended by high-ranking officials of the Czech Republic: Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Miloš Vystrčil, Deputy Chairman of the Senate Parliament of the Czech Rep теtka Seítlova, Deputy Chairman of Senate of the Parliament Of the Czech Republic Thanks to Thomas Chernin, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavsky, Mayor of Prague Bogoslav Svoboda, Chairman of the Czech-Ukraine Interparliamentary Friendship Group, Chairman of the Security Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Pavel Zachek, Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Senate Petitions Committee Erzhi Ružichka, Colonel of the General Staff, Deputy Chief of the Military Office of the President Czech Republic Otakar Foltin, Government Commissioner for the Restoration of Ukraine Tomasz Kopechny, Director of the Department of Arms and Procurement of the Ministry of Defense Lyubor Koudelka, Director of the Law and Economics Department of the Czech Government Philip Minarzh. The event was also attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Czechoslovakkoí̈ Union of Legionnaires Colonel in Reserve Victor Shinkovec У, representatives of the Ukrainian community in the Czech Republic and leading local media.
Ukrainian and Czech flags were raised above the memorial on this day, the anthems of Ukraine and the Czech Republic sounded by a military orchestra.
In his speech to the present, Vitaliy Usaty noted that the Victory over Nazism was achieved as a result of the concentration of all forces, mutual assistance, consolidation and solidarity of peoples in the interest of the fight against evil and stressed that now Ukrainians with weapons in their hands protect Europe and give a chance to build a more lasting peace. The condition for this is victory over Russia, the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and disabling the future aggression of Russian imperialism against anyone on the planet.
In every speech of the respected guests to the present today were words of support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
Ukrainians know the price of war and victory very well – at least 8 million Ukrainians died in battle in those years. We are proud of the Ukrainian people, who not only fought heroically in the years of World War II, but continues to courageously defend our country in the war unleashed by Russia against our people in 2014.
