Marak katom – not originally Jewish, but one of the most popular soups in every Israeli household! 😋🇮🇱
Ingredients (6 servings):
2 sweet potatoes/sweet potatoes (peeled, diced)
1 large onion (peeled and chopped roughly)
4 carrots (peeled, chopped)
300 grams of pumpkin
A spoonful of grated fresh ginger
Ground turmeric
Salt
Preparation:
1. In a large pot on 3 tablespoons of oil, fry the onion until it is soft.
2. In the meantime, we’ll cut all the vegetables into medium-sized cubes.
3. Put the vegetables in a pot and let them roast for 2-3 minutes.
4. Pour water to the height of the vegetables.
5. Add grated ginger, turmeric and salt, bring to a boil, reduce the flame and cook for about 20 minutes.
6. We mix everything with a stick mixer.
7. According to taste: Sprinkle chopped chives before serving.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗸 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗺 (Orange Soup) – not originally Jewish, but one of the most beloved soups in every Israeli home! 😋🇮🇱
The ingredients (6 servings):
2 sweet potatoes (peeled)
1 large onion (peeled and chopped roughly)
4 carrots (peeled)
300 grams of pumpkin squash
A teaspoon of grated fresh ginger
Ground turmeric
Salt
Preparation:
1. In a big pot with 3 tablespoons of oil, fry the onion until it’s soft.
2. In the meantime, cut all the vegetables into medium-sized cubes.
3. Put the vegetables in the pot and let fry for a 2-3 minutes.
4. Cover with water up to the height of the vegetables.
5. Add grated ginger, turmeric and salt, bring to a boil, lower the flame and cook for about 20 minutes.
6. Blend in a food processor for a uniform texture.
7. Optional: Before serving, sprinkle chopped chives on top.
