Meteorologists Issue Warning for Strong Thunderstorms in Western and Southern Czech Republic

Meteorologists have issued a warning for the western and southern regions of the Czech Republic, cautioning residents about the impending arrival of strong thunderstorms tonight. These storms are expected to bring with them powerful winds, reaching around 70 km/h and potentially up to 90 km/h in mountainous areas. The alert is applicable to the Karlovy Vary, Plzeň, and South Bohemia regions and will be in effect from Thursday at 10 p.m. until Friday at 3 a.m.

While the warning for thunderstorms is specific to these regions, national warnings concerning high temperatures and the associated fire risk remain in effect. However, the fire risk is anticipated to subside from Saturday onwards due to anticipated rainfall. The current period of high temperatures is projected to conclude over the weekend, as cloud cover increases and temperatures gradually decrease, accompanied by countrywide rainfall.
