Mongolia Celebrates National Day and 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations with the Czech Republic in Prague
On April 30, 2025, the Embassy of Mongolia in the Czech Republic, represented by H.E. GANSUKH Damdin, hosted a solemn and festive reception to mark Mongolia’s National Day as well as the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia). The event took place in the historic setting of the Hotel International in Prague, a building that itself reflects the architectural legacy of early socialist cooperation and cultural exchange.
Distinguished guests from the Czech government, diplomatic corps, business community, academia, and Mongolian diaspora gathered to commemorate this important milestone in bilateral relations. In their opening speeches, representatives of both nations highlighted the depth of mutual respect and historical ties that have connected the two countries since the formal establishment of diplomatic relations in 1950. The Mongolian ambassador underlined the significance of the Czech Republic as a longstanding and reliable partner in Europe.
Throughout the decades, the Czech Republic and Mongolia have developed extensive cooperation in the areas of education, geology, engineering, medicine, and cultural exchange. Thousands of Mongolian professionals and students have received their education in Czech institutions, many of whom now contribute to the development of Mongolian society. In recent years, bilateral trade and investment have also gained momentum, with growing interest in green energy, tourism, and technological collaboration.
The evening reception featured traditional Mongolian music and dance performances, an exhibition of Mongolian art and photography, and a buffet offering iconic Mongolian dishes. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the rich cultural heritage of Mongolia and reflect on the achievements of the past 75 years.
The event served not only to celebrate the shared past but also to reaffirm the commitment of both countries to deepening their partnership in the future, based on mutual benefit, trust, and friendship.
