The Global Premiere Of The Film “Zatopek” Will Kick Off The Karlovy Vary Film Festival.

On the 20th of August, the global premiere of David Ondříčk’s film “Zatopek” will open the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Václav Neužil and Martha Issová will appear in the biographical drama about a four-time Olympic winner.

The event will take place from August 20th to August 28th this year. There will be a total of 32 premieres. Viewers will also be treated to a homage to Martin Scorsese’s “The Film Foundation,” which he created in 1990.

This year’s Karlovy Vary Film Festival will include documentaries in addition to feature films. Last year’s festival was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Karlovy Vary Film Festival’s long-standing interest in film history will be represented in this year’s “The Film Foundation” awards ceremony. The non-profit organization, which was founded by American film legend Martin Scorsese thirty-one years ago, is one of the most important actors in conserving and preserving cinema’s history. Hundreds of unique films from the 1930s to the 1990s will be shown at Karlovy Vary cinemas. It features filmmakers from the US, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Taiwan and Morocco.
