Which Covid-19 Vaccine is the Best?

The most effective vaccines against Covid-19 are those manufactured by Moderna and Pfizer. According to a recent American study, Pfizer also performs well against different coronavirus mutations. The Chinese vaccines were the worst in general, and AstraZeneca’s vaccines failed efficacy tests against the South African mutation of the virus.

The average percentage of efficacy shows how much less likely a vaccinated individual is to develop COVID-19, in regard to an unvaccinated person. Independent values vary depending on the drug. The good news is that, after the second dose, all vaccines provide protection against the coronavirus. As a result, the infected person possibly doesn’t have to be sent to the hospital.

Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, according to Bloomberg, have a narrower effective spectrum compared to other studied vaccines, making them a better option for defense against COVID-19.

The vaccine from Novavax, which has not yet been approved by the European Medicine Agency (EMA), is also doing well in preliminary testing (similar to Sputnik V or Sinovac). According to the University of Florida research, it protects one against Covid-19 in 89.3 percent of cases, which is remarkably better than AstraZeneca which results in 81.5 percent efficacy.

According to Florida researchers, vaccines do clearly protect against serious illness. But this does not mean that it fully prevents the virus from spreading. The infection rate is reduced by an average of 54% with available vaccines.
