Presentation of Accreditation Letters to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV by Ambassador Gabriela Moraru

Vatican City, December 6, 2025 – During a solemn ceremony in the Apostolic Palace of the Holy See, in the renowned Clementine Hall, Ms. Gabriela Moraru presented the letters of accreditation to Pope Leo XIV as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova.

During the audience with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, the Ambassador conveyed her good wishes and her desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Holy See by encouraging the opening of national authorities to intensify diplomatic, cultural, and spiritual dialogue. Members of the Embassy’s diplomatic staff also participated in the ceremony.

During the audience with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, the Ambassador conveyed her good wishes and her desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Holy See by encouraging the opening of national authorities to intensifying diplomatic, cultural, and spiritual dialogue. In his address to the ambassadors, Pope Leo XIV highlighted the role of diplomacy as a privileged space for promoting peace and fundamental rights, emphasizing that the diplomacy of the Holy See “cannot remain silent in the face of the grave inequalities, injustice, and human suffering that characterize our international community” and calls for a “renewed multilateral commitment, inspired by the spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility.”

His Holiness stressed the importance of joint efforts for peace, justice, and human dignity, values ​​that underpin papal actions.

Ambassador Gabriela Moraru thanked the Republic of Moldova for its continued moral support of the Holy See and emphasized Moldova’s continued deep commitment to cultivating peace, dialogue, and solidarity.

Vatican, 6 decembrie 2025 – În cadrul unei ceremonii solemne desfășurate în Palatul Apostolic al Sfântului Scaun, în renumita Sală Clementină, doamna Gabriela Moraru a prezentat Scrisorile de Acreditare Suveranului Pontif Papa Leon al XIV în calitate de Ambasador Extraordinar și Plenipotențiar al Republicii Moldova pe lângă Sfântul Scaun.

În cadrul audienței cu Sanctitatea Sa Papa Leon al XIV-lea, doamna Ambasador a transmis urările de bine și dorința de a consolida cooperarea bilaterală între Republica Moldova și Sfântul Scaun, exprimând deschiderea autorităților naționale pentru intensificarea dialogului diplomatic, cultural și spiritual. La ceremonie au participat și membrii corpului diplomatic ai Ambasadei.

În cuvântul său adresat ambasadorilor, Papa Leon al XIV-lea a evidențiat rolul diplomației ca spațiu privilegiat de promovare a păcii și drepturilor fundamentale, subliniind că diplomația Sfântului Scaun „nu poate rămâne tăcută în fața gravelor inegalități, nedreptăți și suferințe umane care marchează comunitatea noastră internațională” și a pledat pentru un „angajament multilateral reînnoit, inspirat de spiritul cooperării și al responsabilității comune”. Sanctitatea Sa a reiterat importanța eforturilor comune în favoarea păcii, justiției și demnității umane, valori care constituie temelia acțiunii pontificale.

Ambasadorul Gabriela Moraru a exprimat recunoștința Republicii Moldova pentru sprijinul moral constant oferit de Sfântul Scaun, reliefând faptul că Republica Moldova rămâne profund angajată în cultivarea păcii, dialogului și solidarității.

Dezember 2025 – Während einer feierlichen Zeremonie im Apostolischen Palast des Heiligen Stuhls, im berühmten Clementinesaal, überreichte Frau Gabriela Moraru dem Papst-Souveränen Papst Leon XIV. die Akkreditierungsbriefe als außerordentlicher und bevollmächtigter Botschafter der Republik Moldau Heiliger Strohsack.

Během audience u Jeho Svatosti papeže Lva XIV. velvyslankyně vyjádřila svá přání a touhu posílit bilaterální spolupráci mezi Moldavskou republikou a Svatým stolcem tím, že podpoří otevření národních orgánů pro intenzivnější diplomatický, kulturní a duchovní dialog. Ceremoniálu se zúčastnili také členové diplomatického personálu velvyslanectví.
