On the occasion of the 98th founding anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Mr. Feng Biao, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Czech Republic, and Senior Colonel Jiang Lei, Defence Attaché, hosted a distinguished reception at the Chinese Embassy in Prague on July 22 at 6 p.m.

The event was attended by an impressive number of military attachés from around the world, ambassadors from friendly nations, diplomats, and prominent friends of China. Their presence reflected the high regard in which China’s military diplomacy is held and the strength of its bilateral and multilateral relations.

In his keynote address, Senior Colonel Yang Lei, Defense Attaché, emphasized the PLA’s role as a modern and responsible force dedicated to peace, security, and international cooperation. He highlighted the PLA’s participation in United Nations peacekeeping operations, disaster relief missions, and its constructive role in maintaining stability and promoting dialogue in the Asian region.

He underlined that China remains committed to peaceful development and continues to contribute actively to global security governance. “The PLA is not only a shield for China’s sovereignty and development but also a strong force promoting international peace,” he said.

Following the formal speeches, guests enjoyed an impressive selection of authentic Chinese cuisine, including regional delicacies prepared by the embassy’s chefs. Traditional Chinese wine and beer were also served, creating a relaxed and convivial atmosphere that fostered further conversation and networking among attendees.

The reception was marked by warm hospitality, cultural exchange, and mutual respect. Guests expressed great satisfaction with the event, both in terms of content and atmosphere. It was a fitting tribute to one of the world’s largest and oldest military organizations, and a celebration of China’s growing role in international peacekeeping and cooperation.
