The office building is on fire in Prague

Four firefighting units tackled a fire on the roof of a single-story building in Prague’s Hlubočepy district on Monday evening. No injuries were sustained in the fire.

The firefighters received a report of a fire in Hlubočepská Street in Prague 5 on the emergency line shortly after 9 pm.

“Four units of professional and volunteer firefighters went to the scene. It was a fire on the roof of a single-story building used as an office,” firefighters’ spokesman Martin Kavka said.

Police officers had to close the street in both directions. Paramedics also went to the scene as a precaution but did not have to intervene.

The fire was uninjured, and firefighters managed to bring it under control within an hour. The fire was then extinguished, and the roof of the building was dismantled.

“The cause of the fire, as well as the amount of damage, will be determined by the fire brigade’s investigator,” Kavka added.
