Na tři dny – od pátku 13. do neděle 15. února 2026  – se slovenský Trenčín promění v město, ve kterém se kultura odehrává doslova na každém rohu: v ulicích, parcích, galeriích, na hradě, v klubech a kostelech. Z Trenčína se stane jedno velké jeviště plné umění, světel a sousedských setkání.

Evropské hlavní město kultury 2026 odstartuje přes sto akcí. Světelné instalace Light Up the City, mezinárodní výstavy, divadlo, tanec, koncerty, společné snídaně na ulici, nebo festival místních chutí a produktů – to jsou jen některé akce největší kulturní události roku.

Město se otevírá lidem a umění

V průběhu třech dnů bude možné od rána do večera zažívat umění jak v centru, tak v okrajových čtvrtích Trenčína. „Chceme, aby si v programu každý našel to své, ať už jde o velkolepé večerní představení, nebo malý zážitek v sousedské zóně. Zahajovací víkend ukáže, jak může město vypadat, když se otevře lidem, nápadům a zvědavosti,“ říká Lumír Mati, hlavní dramaturg zahajovacího programu.

Víkend plný světla a hudby

Nejbohatší program  slibuje sobota 14. února. Ráno projde městem karnevalový průvod s hudbou, tancem a překvapeními. Odpolední a večerní program se koná v centru města. Večer na Mierovém náměstí vše vyvrcholí velkolepým galaprogramem Manifest Trenčín 2026. Vystoupí m. známá zpěvačka Jana Kirschner.

Španělská akrobatická skupina Company Sacude a v  neděli vystoupí japonské  seskupení MADAKOBAYASHI Taiko+Dance unit  s bubny taiko s dílem SOREZONARU. Koncert slovensko-norského hudebního projektu Slovnorama večer zakončí.

Po celé tři dny budou mít návštěvníci možnost shlédnout sérii světelných instalací Light Up the City. Za zmínku stojí také farmářský trh, který nabídne festival místních chutí.

For three days – from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th February 2026 – Trenčín, Slovakia will transform into a city where culture takes place literally on every corner: in the streets, parks, galleries, the castle, clubs and churches. Trenčín will become one big stage full of art, lights and neighborhood meetings.

The European Capital of Culture 2026 will kick off with over a hundred events. Light Up the City light installations, international exhibitions, theatre, dance, concerts, communal breakfasts on the street, or a festival of local flavours and products – these are just some of the events of the biggest cultural event of the year.

The city opens up to people and art

Over the course of three days, it will be possible to experience art from morning to evening in both the centre and the outskirts of Trenčín. “We want everyone to find something for themselves in the program, whether it is a grand evening performance or a small experience in the neighborhood zone. The opening weekend will show what the city can look like when it opens up to people, ideas, and curiosity,” says Lumír Mati, the main playwright of the opening program.

A weekend full of light and music

The richest program is scheduled for Saturday, February 14. In the morning, a carnival parade with music, dance, and surprises will pass through the city. The afternoon and evening programs will take place in the city center. In the evening, everything will culminate in the magnificent gala program Manifest Trenčín 2026 on Mierové náměstí. The well-known singer Jana Kirschner will perform.

On Sunday, the Spanish acrobatic group Company Sacude will perform, and the Japanese group MADAKOBAYASHI Taiko+Dance unit will perform with taiko drums, featuring a work by SOREZONAR. The concert of the Slovak-Norwegian music project Slovnorama will end the evening.

Over three days, visitors will have the opportunity to see a series of light installations called Light Up the City. Also worth noting is the farmers’ market, which will offer a festival of local flavors.
