U.S. Independence Day Celebrated at the Ambassador’s Residence in Prague
On June 18, 2025, the U.S. Embassy in Prague hosted a festive reception at the Ambassador’s Residence in honor of the upcoming Independence Day of the United States. Though the official holiday falls on July 4th, the event was held in advance to celebrate the enduring partnership between the United States and the Czech Republic.
As the new U.S. Ambassador had not yet assumed office, the welcoming address was delivered by the Chargé d’Affaires, who emphasized the strong and long-standing ties between the two countries. In his remarks, he highlighted shared democratic values, close cooperation in security and defense, and growing collaboration in areas such as trade, innovation, and education.
The reception was attended by a wide range of distinguished guests, including representatives of the Czech government, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and cultural figures. American music, classic barbecue, and regional specialties from across the United States created a warm and festive atmosphere.
The event served as a testament to the close U.S.-Czech relationship and provided an opportunity for informal dialogue and celebration in a welcoming and symbolic setting.
