2024 IIHF World Championship

The world championships in Prague and Ostrava have officially been given a precise timetable. The Czech Republic will take on Finland (20:20) for the first leg on May 10, 2024, before closing with Canada. Tickets for the home team as part of the daily packages will cost between 2,080 and 4,880 crowns depending on the attractiveness of the matches, with the general sale starting at 10 am on October 10.
“We generally put together the game plan in such a way that every day we offer attractive teams to the fans, do not disadvantage anyone and everything went according to sports regulations,” czech hockey’s general secretary Jan Černý commented.
.Just because of the attractiveness of the opponent, Czech fights with Canada, Finland or Switzerland will be among the more expensive ones. Prices vary between 2,680 and 4,880 crowns depending on the category selected.
But when it comes to opponents like Austria or Norway, the daily package costs between 2,080 and 3,480 kroner.
„Rámcovou podobu jsme měli, důkladně jsme analyzovali posledních deset mistrovství světa s dalšími sportovními i kulturními akcemi v Česku. Snažili jsme se o zohlednění inflace a dalších faktorů, které by mohly hrát roli v rozhodování fanoušků,“ oznámil šéf organizačního výboru Petr Bříza.
The package for the day when the Czechs are not playing starts at 1,180 kronor. For the quarter-final, fans will pay at least 3,980 kronor, and the semi-final day will cost between 8,980 and 11,980 kronor. Anyone who wants to see the final fight for medals will pay between 9,680 and 12,980 kroner.
“Against 2015, there was only a slight price increase in the quarter-finals. The semi-finals are the same, the finals are even cheaper. Even though our costs are vastly higher, we tried to keep the prices,” said Martin Gremlica, ticketing section manager within the organizing committee.
Ostrava then hosts Slovak ice hockey players as the “home” side. Package prices with their fixtures almost replicate the Czech ones. Within the two halls, organizers allocated a combined five so-called family games – lunchtime engagements at a discounted price of between 190 and 390 crowns.
The official sale launches on Tuesday, October 10, at 10:00 a.m. Tickets for individual matches will be given to spectators at some point in early January.
The fastest way to get tickets is by registering in the already running competition at ms2024.ticketportal.cz/soutez. Even within this lottery, the organizers announced some news.
The first part of the registration phase is currently running, and the second one will open on 22 August, when people can choose what days and teams would be interested.
In addition, each entrant will have the chance to get tickets in advance. First, in the second half of September, there will be a draw for the winners, who will be able to purchase their tickets between 2 and 4 October in the first round of priority purchase. The unused capacity from this round will then go to all registered in the second round between 6 and 8 October.
