A senior in Ostrava crashed his BMW into a bank door

An eighty-two-year-old driver of a BMW “parked” at the entrance to Komerční Banka on Nádražní Street in Ostrava on Wednesday morning. Fortunately, no pedestrians were injured.

“The accident happened on Wednesday before 10 o’clock. Preliminary information shows that the driver, for reasons as yet unknown, drove from the parking lot onto the sidewalk and then crashed the rear part of the car into the bank building,” said Eva Michalíková, a spokesperson for the Ostrava police.

She added that the driver underwent a breath test for alcohol on the spot, which turned out to be negative. “Traffic police officers will now investigate the causes of the accident,” the spokeswoman summarized.
