To mark Romania’s achievement of the founding observer status within the European Consortium for Research Infrastructure ELI ERIC, the Romanian Embassy hosted, on October 9, 2023, the representatives of the countries participating at the ELI-ERIC General Assembly, which will take place in Prague, on October 9-10, 2023 and where they have The representatives of Romania were also present for the first time.
The Romanian Ambassador in Prague welcomed this first step towards the full return to ELI-ERIC and highlighted the strategic priority of the ELI NP project from Magurele and the support it enjoys from the executive from Bucharest. ELI ERIC Management was represented by the President of the General Assembly Mrs. Caterina Petrillo and ELI ERIC CEO Mr. Allen Weeks.
The Romanian side was represented by the Director General of the National Institute for Research and Development in Physics and Nuclear Energy Horia Hulubei, Mr. Nicolae Marginean and by the Director of ELI NP, Mr. Călin Alexandru Ur.
All participants welcomed Romania’s return to ELI-ERIC and expressed their confidence for a good future collaboration, in order to integrate the three pillars of the project, located in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania, within ERIC.
