Award ceremony of the Český slavík 2023 already on November 24.

The Czech Nightingale is entering its seventh decade of existence. At a press conference led by Rey Koranteng, Nova 14.9.2023 cast the vote in a poll that belongs to one of the world’s longest traditions. Music fans can vote until midnight on November 12, and one of the voters will win the luxury passenger car again. The names of the most popular musical performers will be revealed to TV Nova viewers live from the gala on Friday, November 24. The top of the Czech cultural and social world will present itself on the stage in the role of performers and presenters.
“Preparing the Czech Nightingale is a big responsibility. It has a great tradition and I treat each year with great humility and I believe that this year we will also create a musical holiday and not disappoint the audience,” says creative producer and director Pepe Majeský, who will direct the fifth live broadcast of The Nightingale. For the third time this year, he addressed the proven host couple Ondřej Sokol and Aleš Háma, who also participate in the script with sometimes very sharp humour. “Humour is hyperbole, it’s often on the edge. We don’t want to offend anyone. But I think this style is part of show business. I really appreciate the people we dig into, but they have insight and don’t take themselves too seriously,” adds director Pepe Majeský.
Vojtěch Dyk and the Chinaski group will perform at the gala in Prague’s Forum Karlín hall. Special joint performances are prepared for the nightingale live coverage by David Koller and Ben Cristovao. The Czech nightingale will also pay tribute to the recently departed hitmaker Vaso Patejdl.
In the past year, live coverage of the jubilant czech nightingale has become the most watched programme. In total, the gala was watched by 1,420,000 spectators.
