Celebration dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev

On the 15th December, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Czech Republic has organized an event, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. Among many other roles, he has been the third President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and founder of the modern Azerbaijan.
Heydar Allyev was born in 1923 and has held important leading positions already at the time of the Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan. Besides the major service to his homeland, he has also been the Deputy Prime Minister of the Soviet Union from 1982 until 1987. He became the President of the young Republic of Azerbaijan in 1993 and held his position for 10 years and until the very last months of his life, when his health suggested him to leave the Presidency.
Heydar Aliyev, during all his long and glorious career, has always and successfully promoted the development of his country and its growth under all perspectives. He is a mostly respected historical figure in his country and beyond. His role in the history of Azerbaijani statehood is compared with the roles of Ataturk in Turkiye and Charles de Gaulle in France as well.
The event has been characterized by the speeches of His Excellency Mr. Adish Mammadov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Czech Republic, His Excellency Mr. Egemen Bagis, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye in the Czech Republic and Mr. Emil Nasirli, Chief editor of the international magazine “My Azerbaijan “. A short movie on the life of the Heydar Aliyev has been presented and the book named “100 moments of Heydar Aliyev’s life” by Emil Nasirli was given as a gift to the event participants.
After the speeches, the audience has enjoyed a professional musical performance offered by Ms.Janel Najafli (violin) and Ms. Barbora Prokopova (piano), both of them are currently studying at the Plsen University.
A buffet, accompanied by delicious Azerbaijani wine and cuisine, has allowed the guests to move on to an informal networking atmosphere.
