Czech handball enters the 2023/24 season with the brands Puma, Sportisimo and Tipsport
Czech handball awaits the landmark 2023/24 edition, which culminates in the national team championships, a record match and the next chapter of the attractive domestic title race. The Czech Handball Association will link the future with renowned brands Puma, Sportisimo and Tipsport. At the same time, long-term collaborations with general partners, Chance and MOL continue for both top competitions.
Czech handball experienced progressive growth last season, which it will also work on in the coming year.
“The aim is to continue to intensify cooperation with our partners. We want to work together to create unforgettable experiences for fans,” commented the president of the Czech Handball Association, Ondřej Zdráhala.
Following a long-running campaign, the Czech Handball Association will be trying to atone for the audience record for the men’s national world championship qualifier. A play-off for the world championship is planned between 6 and 12 May 2024, but the national team will have to wait until the second round of qualifying for the competition.
“We want to aim to play the same role in the Czech Republic as handball has in other European countries. Puma is a global, professional brand at the highest level. We are happy to be part of the chosen company of its partners,” she continues reluctantly.
For Puma, this is the first ever collaboration with the Czech Handball Association.At the same time, new modern national team uniforms were introduced. “Czech handball has a rich history and a passionate fan base, which can create a raucous and especially winning atmosphere at matches, which we will definitely be happy to be a part of. We have bet on traditional national colours for jerseys and we believe that whether our representative teams start in red, white or blue, the jerseys will bring them good luck,” adds Teamsport Manager of the Puma brand for the Czech Republic and Slovakia Miloslav Ptáček.
Another new feature is the association with Sportisimo, which becomes the official partner of the team. “We are clearly looking forward to working together. Sportisimo is a Czech-born, highly successful company with a huge distribution network. We are looking for synergy with our partners in order to help them continue to grow in the Czech Republic at the same time,” explains Zdráhala. “I would like to thank both partners for their high-level discussions.”
Tipsport will fill the role of the main partner of the national teams in the upcoming season. “Further deepening cooperation with the strongest Czech betting shop is essential for us. We believe that thanks to it we will be able to come one step further to the world leader,” reveals the president of the Czech Handball Association.
At the same time, Czech handball will be targeted even more frequently in the coming season by the camera lenses of Czech Television, with which the next stage of cooperation starts. “The significant task we have been working on has been to increase the number of television broadcasts from both competitions. Cooperation with Czech Television is crucial for us, the joint negotiations were very constructive,” she describes reluctantly.
Although the hosting of the nearest world and European championships is decided well in advance, the Czech Handball Association has decided to seize the opportunity to compete with Poland to host the Women’s EHF Euro 2026, which was taken away from Russia. Turkey, Romania and Spain have also officially expressed an interest, a decision will be taken on 27 January 2024.
