Czech Politicians Encourage Students to Embrace Openness and Curiosity as New School Year Begins
As the new school year commences in the Czech Republic, political leaders are urging students to maintain an open mindset and curiosity. Prime Minister Petr Fiala and President Petr Pavel delivered speeches during school openings, emphasizing the significance of learning and remaining inquisitive.
Addressing the audience at Střední zahradnické škole in Rajhradě, Prime Minister Fiala underscored the importance of open-mindedness and curiosity. He remarked, “One of the most important things that school can teach you, in addition to practical skills and theoretical knowledge, is the desire to be open to new things.”
President Pavel visited Bukovane and Sadov, where he engaged with first-graders on the importance of reading. He encouraged the children to stay curious and open to new experiences, stating, “Each of you will enjoy something different; the worst situation would be if nothing interests you.”
These speeches from politicians come at a time when the Czech Republic is grappling with a shortage of skilled workers across various fields. By instilling the values of openness and a thirst for new ideas and experiences in children, they aspire to nurture a fresh generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
In addition to delivering speeches, Prime Minister Fiala and President Pavel actively participated in traditional back-to-school events, including ringing the bell to inaugurate the school year. Minister of Education Mikuláš Bek joined Prime Minister Fiala at Střední zahradnické škole in Rajhradě.
The commencement of the new school year has also brought about changes in the Czech education system. Minister Bek announced the introduction of electronic entrance exams for high schools and modifications to the structure of high school subjects.
As the new academic year begins, it is evident that Czech politicians are committed to inspiring the next generation of students to embrace new ideas and experiences. Through this approach, they aspire to shape a brighter future for the country and its citizens by fostering a culture of curiosity and open-mindedness among the youth.
