Delivery Hero rebrands Dáme jídlo as Foodora in nine European markets

Delivery Hero, the German multinational food delivery company, is abandoning the Dáme jídlo brand, the oldest delivery platform in the Czech market, after eleven years. The platform will continue to operate in the market, but it will now operate under the name Foodora in nine European markets. The decision was made to make a change as Delivery Hero believes the Dáme jídlo brand needs a refresh.

The Director of Dáme jídlo, Adam Kolesa, acknowledged that it is not an easy decision to end the Dáme jídlo brand. Still, he said the change was necessary. The company plans to introduce changes by April 17, 2023, and at the same time, applications in Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria will also be renamed. The new logo and name of the platform will be Foodora, a brand that is already known to customers mainly in Scandinavia.

The change will first be noticed by customers who use the company’s services through smartphones. The company’s director stated that they want to focus on the quality of their services, such as delivery speed, expand delivery zones, and introduce subscriptions. Delivery Hero acquired Dáme jídlo in 2014, and since 2019, it has been the company’s sole owner.

Despite the end of the Dáme jídlo brand, the platform will continue to operate in the Czech market. Customers can still expect to receive their favorite dishes from their preferred restaurants and other retailers. The change to the Foodora brand is part of Delivery Hero’s strategy to strengthen its market presence in Europe and continue to provide quality food delivery services.

In conclusion, the end of the Dáme jídlo brand in the Czech market marks the beginning of a new era for the delivery platform, now operating under the Foodora brand. The change comes as a strategic move by Delivery Hero to rebrand the platform and focus on improving the quality of its services. The company’s customers can still expect the same level of service they have grown accustomed to, and the platform will continue to operate in the Czech market.
