Nuclear weapons pose one of the greatest threats to the very existence of humanity. The existence of nuclear weapons implies the risk of nuclear detonation, either intentional or accidental, which would cause a humanitarian catastrophe that could not be addressed by the international community. For this reason, Mexico strives to prevent such catastrophic consequences.
