The Crown Couple and His Highness Prince Christian depart in a motor car from Frederick VIII Palace. in Amalienborg to Christiansborg Palace.
13:37 Her Majesty Queen Margrethe leaves Amalienborg in a carriage.
Her Majesty riding in a carriage from the Palace of Christian IX. in Amalienborg to Christiansborg Palace accompanied by a regiment of Hussar Guards.
14:00 State Council at Christiansborg Palace
Her Majesty The Queen, His Highness The Crown Prince and His Highness Prince Christian together with the Government are attending a meeting of the State Council.
Succession to the throne will be handed over during a meeting of the State Council, as soon as Her Majesty The Queen signs a declaration of her abdication.
14:15 Departure of His Majesty Queen Margretha from Christiansborg Palace.
Her Majesty Queen Margrethe leaves in a motor vehicle to the Palace of Christian IX. in Amalienborg.
14:30 His Majesty The King and Queen are hosting a festive feast for invited guests.
15:00 Call from the balcony of Christiansborg Palace
His Majesty King Frederick X steps out to the balcony of Christiansborg Palace, to which the Prime Minister announces His Majesty’s entry to the throne.
The king will deliver his speech.
15:10 Honorable cannon salvo from the Sistine Battery.
After the proclamation, 3 x 27 shots were fired from the Sixtus Battery in Copenhagen’s Holmen.
15:10 The Royal Standard is launched and re-erected at Amalienborg.
After the announcement, the royal standard is launched at the palace of Christian IX. and again erected at the palace of Frederick VIII. in Amalienborg.
15:30 The King and Queen are leaving in a coach from Christiansborg Palace.
After the proclamation, the King and the Queen go in a carriage accompanied by a squadron of the Hussar Guards Regiment from Christiansborg Palace to Frederick VIII Palace. in Amalienborg.
