Embassy of Slovenia in Prague / Velvyslanectví Republiky Slovinsko v Praze

🇸🇮🇨🇿SLOVENIAN CULTURAL HOLIDAY IN BRNO, 16. February: Brno premiere of the movie “Czech cottage and Czech-Slovak cooperation” (“Češka cottage a Czech-Slovenian mutualhip”) director, screenwriter and author of lyrics Ladislav Jiráska. The film was produced by Jirásk companies Alpe pol. and lide&HORY s.r.o. and was premiered in Slovenia in March 2022 in Ljubljana and Jezersko, and in Czech Republic in November 2022 in Prague. Jirásko recreated the history of the Czech cottage in a feature-documentary film from the decision to place it on the Ravne above Upper Jezerski, to its construction and preservation in its original form until today. He also woven the story of her legendary caretakers from the Karničar family from Jezersko into the movie. The film describes how Czech mountaineers discovered Jezerska more than 120 years ago, made bonds with locals and built a cottage in the shape of a typical Czech farm house in 1900. The Czech cottage was a symbol of Slovenia back then, but today it is a symbol of long-standing mountain cooperation and friendship between Slovenians and Czechs. Ladislav Jirásko collected and used more than 400 historical photographs and documents for the film.
We sincerely thank Ladislav Jirásk for the depiction of the film that testifies to valuable 🇸🇮 🇨🇿 relationships and friendships, as well as for his 50 years of research, describing and promotion of Slovenian mountains and Slovenian mountaineering.
We were happy that the famous Slovenian alpinist and mayor of Jezersko Municipality Drejc Karničar attended the event and participated in the conversation after the movie was shown. Drejc Karničar and his wife Polona have also been caretakers of the Czech lodge for five years and have been cooperating with Ladislav Jirásk and Czech mountaineers for many years – thank you for attending the event in Brno.
Special thanks to Czech alpinist and photographer Ladislav Novák for attending the event.
Both Drejc Karničar and Ladislav Novák also starred in the movie.
The embassy would like to thank the Czech – Slovenian society from Brno, especially Alena Šamonilova and Mateja Kosa for organizing the screening of the film and a conversation with Ladislav Jirásk, Drejc Karničar and Ladislav Novák, especially Alena Shamonilova and Matthew Kosa.
Participants were greeted by ambassador Tanja Strniša
