Embassy of Sweden in Czechia

63. ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL starts today! And they bring a whole bunch of Swedish films (not only) for children and youth. 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
– Forever – Main Competition, International Premiere!!!
Fourteen-year-old girls Mila and Kia have been best friends for ever, and also teammates in the girls’ football club. When the team starts to be trained by a new challenging trainer, their common goals begin to move away. Mila, who lives only with her mother, dreams of becoming a professional footballer and playing in the Gothia Cup, the largest youth football cup in the world. Kia, surrounded by a financially secure and harmonious family, on the other hand, begins to realize that there are other things in the world than sports. Is their friendship worth it or will they fall victim to personal success? A great football movie about identity, friendship, love, courage and sacrifices one must make to follow your dreams. A heartwarming image that every teenager can relate to regardless of whether you are a football fan, brings lasting value and an entertaining spectacle.
🎞 Law of the Gang
Talented and well-mannered twelve-year-old Abdel lives with his mother in an inconsolable suburb for the socially weak. When his best friend starts selling drugs for a local gang, Abdi gets lured into criminal activities in his quest to help him. By doing so, he risks changing the course of his life and being pushed down a path he has not chosen. After an unsuccessful action, he inadvertently reveals where the gang hideout is, which is again attacked by the competition. Abdel comes under gang pressure and is forced to undo his mistake. The impressive drama with brilliant acting points out that even if you have a good home, parents and dreams, you can still end up in bad company due to peer pressure. A realistic picture, belonging to those that a teenage viewer would not miss, won the Young Jury Award and the Church of Sweden at this year’s BUFF International Film Festival in Malmö, Sweden.
🎞 Comedy Queen
The story of thirteen-year-old Sasha, who refuses to mourn her mother, who died despite her immense sadness. She’s secretly making a list of everything she has to do in order to survive – shave her hair, stop reading books, say no to the cutest puppy in the world and above all – become a stand-up comedian to make everyone laugh, especially her dad who secretly cries in the shower when he thinks no one can hear him.
🎞 She is so damn fine
Joanna’s mind is like a flashing theme park in prime season. 18-year-old girl needs medication to keep her ADHD and her brain at bay. Her father is recovering from depression and his illness barely covers housing costs. Joanna can’t afford the meds so. However, to do without medication means a very upsetting and raw version of herself, so a girl has to be very creative in raising money. The charming and confident Audrey will enter the chaos.
🎞 Exodus
We follow the fate of 12-year-old Syrian refugee Amal on her way to Romania, where she is supposed to meet her family in a refugee camp there. However, first she has a risky journey through Turkey. After arriving in a crowded shipping container in Istanbul, she manages to escape a raid by Turkish immigration authorities. Smuggler Sam unexpectedly helps her get back to her family on a trip across Europe.
The Eagles web series
Elias is the son of a former NHL star and a junior hockey talent. When he moves back to Oskarshamn, Sweden with his parents and sister, he joins a local high school and, of course, the hockey team. However, fitting into the alumni team will be harder than beating the Canadian team in the weakdown. Plus when his sister peeks into Elias’s biggest opponent on the ice. Swedish series hit about sports, friendship, love and non-sports fouls on and off the ice.
