Embassy of the Netherlands in the Czech Republic

Today, 27 June, is the official Day of the Commemoration of the Victims of the Communist Regime. On this day in 1950, Czechoslovak politician Milada Horáková was executed by the communist regime because of a false accusation of treason and espionage. On the evening before the Commemoration Day, an annual ceremony is held at Ďáblice cemetary in Prague, commemorating Horáková and all other victims of the communist regime. You can also visit the Memorial to the Victims of Communism in Prague, created by the distinguished Czech sculptor Olbram Zoubek in cooperation with architects Zdeněk Hölzl and Jan Karel. It is located at the base of Petřín hill, directly opposite to the Vítězná St.
