England U21 XI vs Czech Republic: Starting lineup, team news and injury latest today

England U21 have named their team to face Czech Republic tonight in the European Under-21 Championship.

Arsenal winger Emile Smith Rowe has missed out on a place in the XI with Noni Madueke of Chelsea starting on the wing.

Lee Carsley’s U21s find themselves in a group with the Czechs, Israel, and defending champions Germany. Captain Levi Colwill, the Chelsea centre-back starts having arrived in Georgia later than the rest of the squad as he joined the England seniors for their Euro 2024 qualifying wins over Malta and North Macedonia.

Speaking about Colwill on Wednesday, his centre-back partner Taylor Harwood-Bellis said: “He’s brilliant. It’s not just me that will say that; he’s shown it all the way through the season. There is no doubt he can go and do it in the Premier League, which he has done this season. I feel like we complement each other.”
