Fashion Arena Prague Outlet Opened 20 More Places for Charging Electric Cars

In mid-May, the Fashion Arena Prague Outlet centre in Štěrboholy successfully opened 20 new parking spaces for charging electric cars. This initiative is a response to the growing trend of e-mobility and at the same time promoting eco-friendly travel options for the outlet centre’s customers. This is the second phase of building spaces for electric vehicles and a significant expansion of capacities in the network of approximately two hundred charging stations in Prague.

The 22 kW charging station, operated by PRE, will allow owners of electric cars to conveniently charge their vehicles directly at Fashion Arena Prague Outlet, which has a very strategic location within Prague’s infrastructure at the intersection of Štěrboholská spojka and Průmyslova Street. This makes the centre an ideal place for customers who want to shop and at the same time support sustainable modes of transport.

“The newly installed twenty charging points should better meet the growing demand. As part of this project, we have chosen stations with slower charging and the type designation AC with a capacity of 22 kW over and above the previously installed fast charging stations. This type of station should supplement the demand of our customers who can shop in the meantime.” said Michal Hnilica, Technical Director of Fashion Arena Prague Outlet. “The growing trend of e-mobility is irreversible, and we feel obliged to respond to the market demand and provide our visitors with a pleasant and environmentally friendly shopping experience.”

Fashion Arena has agreed with Prague Energy (PRE) to install an additional twenty EV charging stations to complement the two stations in the surface car park and an ultra-fast station with a capacity of up to 150 kW with three types of connectors (Mennekes, CCS Combo and CHAdeMO). All charging stations on the Fashion Arena site belong to the PREpoint network, where the intuitive Charger.PRE app for electric vehicles can be used.

The most visited domestic outlet centre has long placed great emphasis on a more environmentally friendly approach and the e-mobility trend. For example, there is an official parking zone for publicly shared electric scooters, a free shuttle bus service and bike racks for cyclists.
