FESTIVALS: KVIFF Industry Days 2023 Announces Projects Selected for Eastern Promises

KARLOVY VARY: A total of 27 projects will be showcased at Works in Progress, Works in Development – Feature Launch, and First Cut+ Works in Progress within KVIFF Eastern Promises 2023. The 57th edition of the Karlovy Vary IFF will be held 30 June – 8 July 2023 and the Industry Days will be held 2 – 5 July 2023.

Eleven feature films and long documentaries in late production or postproduction from CEE, the Balkans, the former Soviet Union, the Middle East and North Africa have been selected for Works in Progress. The presentations will take place on 3 July 2023 at 14:30 CET.

Eight projects will take part in Works in Development – Feature Launch, a platform organised by KVIFF, the MIDPOINT Institute international script development programme, When East Meets West coproduction market and the Trieste Film Festival. The presentations will take place on 3 July 2023 at 10:30 CET.

First Cut+ Works in Progress was launched in 2020 by Trieste FF’s When East Meets West and Karlovy Vary IFF’s Eastern Promises Industry Days. Each year, First Cut+ promotes a portfolio of 16 feature films in postproduction, of which eight will be presented in Karlovy Vary. The presentations will take place on 4 July 2023 at 13:00 CET.
