Fiala will provide Pavel’s team with a Hrzánský Palace until the inauguration

The Hrzán Palace in Hradčany, Prague, will serve as the temporary residence of President-elect Petr Pavel prior to his inauguration in March. The decision was made by Prime Minister Petr Fiala of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) following a request from Pavel’s team.

Previously, the palace was used for representational purposes by the Prime Minister. The historic building was built in the post-Blohemian period on the site of a former Gothic house and is named after Sigismund Valentin Hrzán of Harras.

Pavel, who was elected as the new President of the Czech Republic on Saturday, will move to Prague Castle after his inauguration, where he will succeed current President Miloš Zeman. The Hrzán Palace will provide a temporary location for Pavel and his team until the official transfer of power takes place.

The Hrzán Palace is located on Loretánská Street and serves as a notable landmark in the city of Prague. The Prime Minister’s decision to allow Pavel and his team to use the building demonstrates his commitment to supporting the future President in the lead-up to his inauguration.
