The renowned American fast-food chain, Five Guys, is set to make its entry into the Czech Republic with the opening of its first branch on Národní Street in Prague next year. Known for its emphasis on meat-loaded burgers, fries, and milkshakes, Five Guys has gained international recognition, boasting over 1,800 branches globally, including locations in Asia, Australia, and several European countries.

The expansion into the Czech Republic follows the recent debut of the first Popeyes fast-food branch, which introduced Louisiana’s chicken specialties to the country, drawing notable attention with queues at Wenceslas Square in Prague.

Five Guys distinguishes itself with burgers that are promoted as free of preservatives and artificial additives in the meat. While the prices, approximately 250 Czech koruna per burger, are slightly higher, the quality and focus on natural ingredients contribute to the chain’s popularity.

The Czech debut is anticipated to bring a “spicy 2024,” as announced by Petros Stathis, the director of Monterock company, which holds the franchise rights for Five Guys. The first restaurant is slated to be located in the Máj department store on Národní Street in Prague, currently undergoing significant reconstruction. The completion of the reconstruction is expected in the second or third quarter of next year.

The expansion of popular international fast-food chains into the Czech market reflects the dynamic culinary landscape and consumer preferences in the region. With the growing interest in diverse and globally recognized food options, the arrival of Five Guys is poised to capture the taste buds of Prague residents and visitors alike.
