Hans Weber’s 62nd Birthday Celebration: Encounters Between Diplomacy, Politics, and Culture
On January 28, a special birthday was celebrated in the stylish setting of the FASHION LIBRARY in Prague: Hans Weber, President and Editor-in-Chief of PRAGUE FORUM, celebrated his 62nd birthday surrounded by numerous colleagues and friends. The evening’s hostess, along with the birthday celebrant, was Ljiljana Jovanovski Asenov, owner of the Fashion Library and President of the North Macedonian Chamber of Commerce. With a keen sense of atmosphere and hospitality, she created a setting in her wonderful boutique, FASHION LIBRARY, that perfectly suited the occasion.
The reception brought together representatives from diplomacy, politics, and business, as well as close friends and long-time associates. Among the guests were numerous ambassadors (Hungary, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Palestine….) and the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Ocolo, underscoring the international significance and esteem that Hans Weber enjoys in Prague. The evening’s conversations ranged from current political developments and cultural projects to personal reminiscences.
Hans Weber has lived in Prague for 21 years and is a prominent figure in the Czech and especially the Prague cultural, political, and diplomatic scene. His work as President of PRAGUE FORUM and as Editor-in-Chief has significantly contributed to building bridges between countries, institutions, and people.
Hans Weber was born on January 27, 1964, in Altötting. His academic career took him to the University of Regensburg, the Economic Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Córdoba in Argentina. This international education continues to shape his analytical perspective and his ability to consider political, economic, and cultural connections within a global context.
In a relaxed atmosphere, accompanied by stimulating conversation, good food, and a stylish setting, the event not only celebrated a birthday but also honored a lifetime of achievement closely linked to Prague. Hans Weber’s 62nd birthday celebration was therefore more than a social event – it was a meeting place for the international Prague community and an expression of appreciation for a man who has been actively shaping this scene for over two decades.
