Has PPF had enough?

The Communists are staging a political comeback, after losing representation in the Senate in 2018 and House in 2021. Chair Kateřina Konečná has been holding down the fort for them in the EU Parliament and appears to be on her way to leading the new leftist Stačilo!/Enough! coalition to a better showing in the June 7-8 EU elections than KSČM’s 6.94% finish in 2019. When PPF’s TV Nova gives Stačilo! five minutes in its main evening news, as it did last night, it portends a political tremor. Nova has consistently been less pro-government than Czech TV, and it launched a Sun. debate show that competes directly with Václav Moravec, whose favored party is STAN. Perhaps PPF wants some leverage against NÚKIB and the new cybersecurity law. Perhaps it isn’t on the way out, as we wrote in Nov., and is returning to Petr Kellner’s priorities of freedom, remembering PPF’s roots and cultivating Czech potential. Instead of accepting the decline and destruction of the country’s current direction.
