Hottest Week of June Begins in the Czech Republic with Thunderstorms Expected

The Czech Republic is bracing for the hottest week of June as warm southwest to south winds bring scorching temperatures exceeding 30°C in the afternoon. Meteorologists predict that the country will also experience its first tropical night of the year, with temperatures not dropping below 20°C. However, the humid air will lead to the formation of thunderstorms in some areas, occasionally accompanied by heavy rain, hail, and strong winds.

The week starts with clear to partly cloudy skies on Monday, but cloud cover will increase throughout the day, potentially leading to isolated showers or thunderstorms in the northwestern part of the country. Afternoon temperatures are expected to range from 26 to 31°C, with slightly cooler temperatures around 25°C in the north, according to meteorologist Dagmar Honsová.

Tuesday will bring a mix of clouds and sunshine, with the likelihood of rain, showers, and thunderstorms during the day. Some of these storms may be intense. Morning temperatures will range from 17 to 13°C, while the afternoon will see temperatures rise to between 28 and 33°C.

Wednesday will be mostly overcast, with rain, showers, and thunderstorms occurring in various regions, some of which could be quite severe. Morning temperatures will range from 19 to 13°C, with afternoon temperatures reaching 28 to 32°C.

Thursday will remain cloudy with occasional rainfall and thunderstorms, some of which may be powerful. Morning temperatures will range from 20 to 15°C, while afternoon temperatures will range from 27 to 32°C.

Friday will continue to be overcast, with intermittent showers, rain, and thunderstorms. Morning temperatures will be between 19 and 15°C, and afternoon temperatures will range from 22 to 26°C.

Looking ahead to the last weekend of June, the weather is expected to be mostly clear to partly cloudy with occasional showers due to transiently increased cloudiness. Morning temperatures will range from 16 to 12°C, while afternoon temperatures will be between 21 and 26°C.

As the country enters this scorching week with the possibility of thunderstorms, residents are advised to stay hydrated, take necessary precautions, and stay updated on weather alerts to ensure their safety and well-being.
