Among the main guests of the conference were the Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Luis Almagro, and the Secretary General of Iberoamerica, Andrés Allamand. “There is great untapped potential in our relations, especially in economic cooperation. We are an export-oriented country, open to trade, investment and creativity, and we are ready to strengthen our relations in a way that will be beneficial to both sides,” said the head of Czech diplomacy, who also recalled his recent trip to Latin America and pointed out the importance of cooperation in the field of cyber security.

The first part of the conference was dedicated to global challenges, the second thematic block discussed regional issues and the last block focused on economic cooperation and cyber security. An exhibition on the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Argentina and a book on the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Chile were also launched at the Czernin Palace. There was also a performance by a Panamanian folklore group and an exhibition of Dominican paintings.

During Ibero-American Week, which takes place from 13 to 19 May, a number of cultural and social events will take place not only in Prague but also in many other cities in the Czechia. There will also be a football match between the MFA team and the Ibero-American embassies team. This is the third edition of the Ibero-American Week, which is gradually becoming a tradition.
