LFA will help Czech teams in pre-season
FORTUNA:LIGA and FORTUNA:NATIONAL LEAGUE have a first-round pick this weekend to begin the 2023/24 season. It will bring a fight for an extra cup place, rule news, more available videos from F:NL, as well as crucial decisions for the future of the entire Czech professional football.
It is during the 2023/24 season that the League Football Association, which runs both FORTUNA:LIGA and FORTUNA:NATIONAL LEAGUE, will decide on several significant points. The tender will include the selection of a new broadcaster, the general partner will be chosen and both the F:L and F:NL formats will also be addressed, i.e. whether the current model will be continued or modified.
“We have a number of high-profile negotiations and decisions to make in the months ahead. In particular, the tender for broadcastrights is a hotly contested topic. But the LFA, together with the clubs, has been working on everything for a long time and I have no doubt that we will be able to take such steps that will bring a significant financial injection to Czech football and take it forward a bit,” said Dušan Svoboda, chairman of the League Football Association, at a press conference ahead of the new season on 20 July 2023.
“Participation in the core group of one of the cups is essential not only for the clubs themselves, but for the whole of Czech football. The procedure brings prestige, is a significant source of finance and increases interest in individual footballers. We therefore want to accommodate our representatives as much as possible and help them as much as possible in the difficult task of qualifying for Europe. For I know how difficult and long the road to advancement is. But I believe several of our teams will succeed,” Dusan Svoboda said.
F:NL clubs can also take advantage of another LFA offer, which, in cooperation with the supplier of the official ball to F:L by SELECT, has agreed that teams will receive the balloons of this very company for matches and practice in the current season, which will provide the official ball for F:NL in 2024/25. The LFA offers for the next season will be used by 15 of the 16 teams.
O2 TV Sport and O2 TV Football traditionally broadcast all matches live, there will be no TIKI-TAKA show or F:INITO show. The new season opens with O2 TV Sport on Friday, July 21, offering a 90-minute Preview FORTUNA:LIGY 2023/2024 from 8 p.m. O2 TV has also prepared a special event for fans as part of its summer campaign with ambassador Petr Cech.
“We have prepared a pre-paid Sport Plus fare advantage featuring the best sports content, including FORTUNA:LIGA, UEFA Champions League or, for the first time ever, all hockey extras. If activated by the end of August, the viewer will get a 20% discount for the whole season, saving over £700 in 12 months, which is doubly useful nowadays,” revealed Marek Kindernay, managing director of O2 TV Sport.
