Minister Lipavský received French State Secretary for Europe Laurence Boone

On 27 April 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský received French State Secretary for Europe Laurence Boone. He discussed EU issues, especially enlargement, with Mrs. Boone.

Both sides agreed to support Ukraine’s EU aspirations, albeit the Western Balkans should not be forgotten. The Czech Republic and French Republic intend to continue to support Ukraine in its self-defence and in the necessary reform steps.

Both sides develop the cooperation with the Indo-Pacific democracies, the transatlantic partnership and European cooperation within NATO are the key instruments. Both the Czech Republic and French Republic welcome the fact that European Political Community summit takes place in Moldova, and both countries intend to remain engaged in the Sahel region.

Bilaterally, we look forward to the meeting between Minister Lipavský and the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna.Preparations for the new Action Plan of Strategic Partnership between Czechia and France are moving forward.
