Minister Lipavský will attend the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels

On Monday, 19 February 2024, EU Foreign Ministers will meet in Brussels for the regular meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC). The agenda for the February FAC includes three main discussion points: the situation in the Middle East, Russian aggression against Ukraine and EU involvement in the Sahel region.

EU diplomatic chiefs will discuss in particular the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and further support for Ukraine in the light of the upcoming two-year anniversary of the Russian invasion. Ministers will also address the issue of EU engagement in the Sahel in view of Russia’s destabilising activities in the region. The meeting will conclude with an exchange of views on the situation in Belarus.

A working breakfast with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, will take place prior to the FAC Council meeting.
