National day reception

On 5th October, at the Embassy in London, Ambassador Marie Chatardová hosted a reception on the occasion of the Czechoslovak Independence Day.

Guests were welcomed by the national anthems of the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom performed by the talented Czech pianist Jakub Sladek, a graduate of the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. The Ambassador then gave a speech summarising the main events in Czech-British relations over the past year. The event was also attended by Czech painter Zuzana Šípová, whose exhibition entitled ‘Identity’ is decorating the walls of the Embassy’s representative premises until 9 November.
