Today is Earth Day! 

This year’s topic is Planet vs. Plastics, and calls for the combating of plastic pollution.

Plastic pollution has a negative impact on our land, our oceans, our wildlife and our health. Reducing plastic production and single-use plastics through recycling are important measures in the fight against plastic pollution.

Norway has one of the first countries in the world to establish a deposit and return system (DRS) for plastic bottles and cans, and the Norwegian system is today among the most efficient in the world. In 2023, around 93% of bottles and cans sold in Norway were returned through the DRS-system!
