CDA BAÑARES AND DEPUTY SPEAKER JAN SKOPEČEK DISCUSS VISIT OF CZECH PARLIAMENTARY AND BUSINESS DELEGATION
TO THE PHILIPPINES
Chargé d’Affaires Indhira C. Bañares met with Deputy Speaker Jan Skopeček at the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic on 01 February 2023 to exchange views on the upcoming visit of the Parliament’s Economic Committee and the Chamber of Commerce to the Philippines next week.
Both officials discussed the complementarity of economic, agricultural and technological interests of the Philippines and the Czech Republic.
Under the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028, ensuring food security remains a priority. Thus, the Philippine interest in increasing trade in agriculture, agri-mechanization, biotech research, and modernization of agricultural infrastructure.
Total agricultural trade between the Philippines and the Czech Republic reached USD4.7 million in 2021.
The Philippines welcomes the visit of Deputy Speaker Skopeček, together with the business delegation, as it looks forward to greater cooperation in agriculture and related fields. END
